He is the former CTO for Tobit Software of North America where he was instrumental in helping Tobit establish its technology roadmap for entering the North American market. He guides GWAVA's research and product development efforts, while overseeing GWAVA's technical services and support division. His expertise comes from a 15-year career in the networking industry, specializing in secure electronic messaging. He is a Certified Novell Engineer (CNE).

Prior to 1994, Mr. DePond served as VP of Marketing for several corporations. Mr. DePond received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering in 1979, and an M.A. in Computer Science in 1980, each from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
