Phil Karren Novell

Phil has 19 years experience in strategy, marketing, market research and software development in companies such as Novell, CacheFlow (now BlueCoat Systems) and IBM. Phil also has worked as a Product Management and research consultant for companies such as Cisco and Valent Software (acquired by Lycos). Phil's unique skill is in working with a broad range of people to research market needs, envision opportunities, coalesce a team around them, and explain them to executives. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.

Richard has been actively involved with GroupWise since 1989. Prior to joining GWAVA, Richard was the Director of Marketing for Novell GroupWise. He has been the VP of Marketing for companies such as Allegro (mail.com)-a leading U.S. provider of corporate e-mail management solutions-and Sigaba, an email security company. He has written numerous articles and spoken at seminars, conferences and conventions on messaging, outsourcing and e-mail security. He has also appeared in numerous magazine interviews as well as appearing on CNN.

Tim King

Based in Sydney, Australia

Tim joined Novell with it's acquisition of WordPerfect Corp. He has been supporting GroupWise since 1992 as part of the WordPerfect and Novell Technical Service call centers, and in 2001 became a Novell Premium Support Engineer. He continues to specialize in GroupWise, currently supporting some of Novell's largest GroupWise accounts in the ANZ region.

Ms Leong has worked with Novell GroupWise, and its document management predecessor, SoftSolutions, for 13 years. She joined Novell in 1995 as part of the Novell Technical Service call center and in 2001 became a Novell Premium Support Engineer for GroupWise specializing in onsite troubleshooting, solution implementation and training. She has supported some of Novell's largest accounts in the Asia region.

Dean has been writing/managing enterprise software for 15 years. He is currently the manager for all of the GroupWise clients, including Windows, Linux and Mac. He also manages the Administration Team, which produces the ConsoleOne plug-ins for GroupWise. Dean teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Business, Computer Science and Information Technology programs at the University of Phoenix. He holds a Masters degree in Business/Technology Management and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.

Alan Hall has been with Novell for five years and is the Product Marketing Manager for Novell Open Enterpriser Server and Novell Open Workgroup Suite. Prior to Novell, Mr. Hall served as Marketing Director for Active Trading at online broker, Ameritrade, Inc. He has also held marketing positions for various high-tech companies and has over 12 years experience in high-tech marketing, international marketing and sales. Mr. Hall has a BS in International Marketing from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Utah State University.

Charles Taite steers GWAVA's technology vision. He is the former CTO for Tobit Software of North America where he was instrumental in helping Tobit establish its technology roadmap for entering the North American market. He guides GWAVA's research and product development efforts, while overseeing GWAVA's technical services and support division. His expertise comes from a 15-year career in the networking industry, specializing in secure electronic messaging. He is a Certified Novell Engineer (CNE).

Gregory Bell is CEO of Advansys, a firm he launched in 1989. Previously he worked at Hewlett-Packard and NEC Information Systems in senior technical roles, training in both the U.S. and Japan. Josh Gibbs leads the design and development of the core technology of GWAVA products. Josh's background in network engineering and software development started in 1989. Josh began writing applications for the NetWare platform in 1996 with the award winning i-MailDS. Josh holds numerous IT industry certificates including Enterprise Certified Novell Engineer (ECNE), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Developer (MCD).
Ben Wilson GWAVA

Based in Auckland, New Zealand

Ben has been a software developer for 15 years, specializing in artificial intelligence and optimization systems, and anything to do with searching. He is a key developer of anti-spam technologies in GWAVA. Ben cut his teeth writing large scale optimization systems for vehicle scheduling in NZ and Australia after gaining a Diploma in Computer Science and a BA in Philosophy at Auckland.

Mr. Osmond holds a Bachelor of Business in Information Processing and Information Systems from Curtin University of Technology (Australia) and has a lengthy history of working with large enterprise computer infrastructure systems and their related processes. Prior to joining Research In Motion (RIM), Mr. Osmond worked with Software Spectrum in a variety of consulting and management roles.

Now based in Sydney, Australia, Mr. Osmond's current position as Director of RIM's Asia Pacific Business Unit brings his extensive industry experiences to the region. He is responsible for the leadership and overall management of RIM's strategic carrier partners in AsiaPacific.

Eric Farr is a Principal of BrainStorm, Inc., where he leads the sales and marketing initiatives. An entrepreneur at heart, Eric has founded several companies and thrives in the fast-paced startup world. Before joining BrainStorm, Eric was President and CEO of EvolveMed, which specializes in documentation solutions for hospital networks and healthcare professionals. Prior to joining EvolveMed, Eric founded Dental Management Systems, which marketed and sold practice and clinical management technology systems to dental practitioners. There, Eric was responsible for all marketing and sales efforts until the business was sold. Eric earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and his MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Eric has been instrumental in BrainStorm's rapid growth and its position as the global leader in GroupWise End-User Training. Eric is a common presenter at GroupWise events and seminars including Novell BrainShare, GWAVACon, and GroupWise Advisor Summit and has contributed articles on end-user training to several publications.

John Wade
John Wade is a Principal of BrainStorm, Inc. and heads up product development. Before joining BrainStorm, John worked as a Consultant with Bain & Company, a global strategy consulting firm. While at Bain, John worked with senior executives on global growth strategies and merger and acquisition matters for various companies, including a leading travel and transportation company, a satellite communications start-up, an international real estate development company, and a major consumer retailer. Prior to joining Bain & Company, John worked for Chase Manhattan Bank's Global Investment Banking Group where he helped co-found and establish their $100 million Real Estate Mezzanine Investment fund. His experiences with Chase also include leading investment banking transactions for private real estate clients as well as managing real estate loan syndication efforts. John earned an MBA with an emphasis in Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School and is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

With his global strategy experience, John has been able to help BrainStorm become an unparalleled leader in the global GroupWise training market. John commonly speaks at GroupWise events including Novell BrainShare, GWAVACon, and GroupWise Advisor Summit.
